Covid-19: Supermarket storekeeper at Jalan Sanyan infects 18 colleagues

KUCHING, March 16: A Covid-19 positive storekeeper of a supermarket at Jalan Sanyan, Sibu has infected 18 of her colleagues, giving rise to a new Covid-19 cluster.

The new cluster, named as the Jalan Sanyan Cluster, was identified as a work place cluster by the Sarawak Health Department.

The index case, Case 10,332, is linked to Case 9,517 who was found to be Covid-19 positive on March 4.

So far, there are 19 infections reported for the cluster.

All 19 cases linked to the cluster have been referred to Sibu Hospital for isolation and treatment for Covid-19.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), active case detection will be carried out in Jalan Sanyan involving all employees of the supermarket as well as visitors and residents of the building where the supermarket operates.
