KUCHING, Oct 25: SMK Wira Penrissen has been ordered to temporarily close from Oct 26 to Nov 1 after a student was confirmed positive for Covid-19.
The State Education Department in a directive to the school which is located along the Kuching-Serian road revealed the school will be closed for cleaning and disinfection works.
Earlier, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement disclosed three new Covid-19 cases reported today were from the Baki Cluster.
The committee explained that these cases consisted of a couple and their child who is studying at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Wira Penrissen.
Meanwhile, the State Education Department added the school needs to ensure that teachers will work from home and conduct lessons and tutorials via online during the school closure period. — DayakDaily
