Covid-19 situation in Julau, Subis, and Pakan improves

KUCHING, Feb 28: The Covid-19 situation in Julau, Subis and Pakan has improved in the most recent 24-hour reporting period.

According to a media statement from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today, Julau and Subis districts have improved their status to Covid-19 orange zones.


An orange zone is a zone or district which reported 21 to 40 cases in the past two weeks.

Both districts were previously classified as red zones, having registered more than 41 cases for the past 14 days.

The committee said Julau and Subis districts reported 40 and 25 Covid-19 cases respectively in the last 14 days.

It added Pakan district is now a green zone after recording zero cases of the coronavirus in the past two weeks.

In the meantime, Kanowit, Betong, Meradong, Kuching, Samarahan, Kapit Bintulu, Miri and Sibu districts remained as red zones after reporting a cumulative total of 2,580 local transmission cases in the past fortnight.

Selangau, Bau, Bukit Mabong, Dalat and Sri Aman districts stayed as orange zones with a total of 157 local infection cases reported over the same period.

Pusa, Song, Asajaya, Beluru, Sarikei, Lundu, Saratok, Sebauh, Tatau, Serian and Belaga remained as yellow zones with a combined total of 86 local transmission cases in the past fortnight.

Matu, Lawas, Daro, Simunjan, Lubok Antu, Telang Usan, Limbang, Tanjung Manis, Tebedu, Mukah, Kabong and Marudi remained unchanged as green zones with zero cases reported in the past two weeks. — DayakDaily
