Covid-19: Sibu records one death, Sarawak logs 505 new cases in Epid Week 30

KUCHING, Aug 1: Sibu recorded one Covid-19 death as Sarawak recorded 505 new Covid-19 cases during Epid (Epidemiological) Week 30.

In a statement today, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that of the new cases reported, 498 were under Categories 1 and 2, while seven were under Categories 3, 4, and 5.

This has brought the total cumulative number of cases reported in the State to 309,641.


By district, Kuching remained at the top with the most number of new cases at 167, followed by Miri (93), Sibu (61), Bintulu (47), Sarikei (19), Samarahan (17), Lawas (11), Limbang (8), Serian (8), Mukah (7), Dalat (7), Kapit (6), Subis (6), Song (5), Marudi (5), Daro (4), Beluru (4), Simunjan (4), Matu (3), Sri Aman (3), Betong (3), Bau (2), Lubok Antu (2), Saratok (2), Kabong (2), Lundu (2), Asajaya (2), Tatau (2) while Kanowit, Pakan and Meradong recorded one case each. — DayakDaily
