Covid-19: Sarawak records zero cases for third consecutive day

KUCHING, Aug 3: Sarawak marks another day with zero new positive cases after two consecutive days of being Covid-19 free, making it a total of 678 cumulative cases as of today in the state.

This was revealed by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement on Covid-19 daily updates today, adding that there were five new recoveries who have been discharged from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).


With that, it disclosed another 60 individuals are still receiving treatment in the hospital isolation wards while the fatality rate remains at 19 cases.

Meanwhile, the committee pointed out there are 15 new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases and zero case still awaiting laboratory test results.

With no new positive cases today, the 10 active clusters in Sarawak remains with no newly added cases as well.

SDMC also said that there were 451 person-under-surveillance (PUS) who were registered into various hotels across Sarawak to be quarantined.

There is now a total of 1,101 individuals under quarantine in 16 hotels throughout Sarawak while 19,478 PUS have completed their 14-day quarantine. —DayakDaily
