Covid-19: Sarawak records three deaths, Kuching tops list with 143 out of 437 cases in Epid Week 29

KUCHING, July 25: Sarawak recorded 437 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths in Epid (epidemiological) Week 29.

The total cases was an increase of 70 in comparison with Epid Week 28, which registered 367 cases.

The death tally recorded this week in Kuching, Miri, and Sibu was higher than last week when two cases were recorded.


According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) weekly report released today, 432 cases are in Categories 1 and 2, while five are in Categories 3, 4, and 5.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak to 309,136.

Kuching remains the district with the most number of cases at 143, followed by Miri (112), Sibu (49), Bintulu (43), and Samarahan (25).

Other districts that reported new cases are Sarikei with 13, Limbang (9), and
Bau, Mukah, Lawas, Sri Aman, Selangau, and Saratok with three cases each.

The districts with two cases each are Serian, Simunjan, Matu, Lubok Antu, Subis, Julau, and Tebedu, while districts with one case reported are Kanowit, Betong, Pakan, Daro, and Song. — DayakDaily
