Covid-19: Sarawak records 602 new cases, one death in Epid Week 31

KUCHING, Aug 8: Sarawak recorded 602 new Covid-19 cases during Epid (Epidemiological) Week 31.

According to a statement issued today by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), 594 cases were in Categories 1 and 2, while eight were in Categories 3, 4, and 5.

This has brought the total cumulative number of cases reported in the State to 310,243.


By district, Kuching remained at the top with the most number of new cases at 220, followed by Miri (102), Sibu (88), Bintulu (40), Samarahan (32), Sarikei (11), Serian and Kapit (9 each), Mukah, Dalat, Sri Aman, and Betong (8 each), Kanowit (7), Simunjan and Lubok Antu (6 each), Limbang, Subis, and Bau (5 each), Daro and Tanjung Manis (4 each), Lawas and Saratok (3 each), Marudi, Beluru, and Tatau (2 each), and Matu, Asajaya, Meradong, Bukit Mambong, and Telang Usan (1 each).
