Covid-19: Sarawak logs 18 new cases, seven in Sibu

KUCHING, Jan 30: Sibu reported seven new cases today as Sarawak recorded 18 new Covid-19 cases.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, Kuching also reported five new cases, while Bau, Samarahan, Kapit, Mukah, Beluru, and Sebauh recorded one case each.

This brings the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in the State to 252,809.

Twelve of the cases are under Category 2 (mild symptoms) and six cases are under Category 1 (asymptomatic).

No new Covid-19 deaths and clusters were reported in the State as of today.

Meanwhile, eleven individuals were compounded by the police in Kuching for failure to scan the QR code into MySejahtera or failure to recorded their details manually before entering a premises.

One individual was also issued with a compound by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) for failure to ensure physical distancing in a premises. — DayakDaily
