Covid-19: New cases drop to 475 with one death reported in Kuching in Epid Week 51

KUCHING, Dec 26: Sarawak reported 475 new Covid-19 cases and one death during Epid (Epidemiological) Week 51, a steady decrease from the 689 cases reported during Epid Week 50.

According to a statement issued today by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), 461 cases were classified as Categories 1 and 2, while 14 were classified as Categories 3, 4, and 5.

This brings the cumulative number of cases reported in the State to 323,271.


By district, Kuching remained at the top with the most number of new cases at 168, followed by Sibu (65), Miri (49), Bintulu (45), Sarikei (20), Samarahan (22), Dalat (16), Mukah (12), Bau (10) and Serian (8).

Lundu and Daro recorded six cases each, while Betong and Saratok (5 each), Kapit, Sri Aman and Selangau (4 each), Subis, Limbang, Tatau and Julau (3 each), Meradong, Simunjan, Lubok Antu, Matu (2 each), and Pakan, Asajaya, Lawan, Pusa, Tebedu and Tanjung Manis (1 each).
