Covid-19 in Sarawak: 11 BIDs out of record high 26 deaths reported today

KUCHING, Sept 29: Out of the record high 26 Covid-19 deaths reported in Sarawak today, 11 were brought-in-dead (BID) cases with the youngest aged 44 from Sibu.

According to a report by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), all 11 fatalities which were recorded from Sept 19 to 25 were individuals with with comorbidities.


Five individuals were from Betong, three from Sibu, two from Kuching and one from Sri Aman.

On Sept 26, the State witnessed its highest daily death toll with 13 mortalities in a single day but none of them were BID cases.

Sarikei accounted for four fatalities, Kuching and Sibu registered three each, and Serian, Sri Aman and Miri counted one each.

The 11 victims were between 47 and 85-years-old where two had no known illnesses.

The remaining two deaths were reported on Sept 28, one each in Bintulu and Kuching, involving two males also with comorbidities.

As of today, Sarawak has accumulated a total of 820 deaths from the virus. — DayakDaily
