SERIAN, March 15: As the impact of Covid-19 on people’s lives and livelihoods continues, corporations, non-governmental organisations, and successful individuals are urged to help those in need.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada explained that their contribution will help alleviate the burden on the community affected by the Covid-19 epidemic over the last two years.

“This has affected the lives of the people, especially those categorised as the B40 group,” he said at the DANA KITA Sarawak Zone@Serian Division 2022 Food Basket Donation Ceremony here on Saturday (March 12).

He also noted that the Sarawak government has introduced the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) 1.0 to 8.0 to assist the people.

At the event, the DANA KITA Welfare Organisation distributed 1,000 food baskets to 49 tribal leaders representing their respective villages in the Serian division.

Meanwhile, Sinang expressed gratitude for the charity activity’s organisation and expressed hope that the organisation would continue to focus its efforts on assisting the people of Serian in the future.

“At the Service Centre level, not only do we need to continue to support such programmes, but also the people of the Service Centre must extend assistance to those in need in the Tebedu constituency,” he said.
