Covid-19 daily cases drop to 478; Cat 1 and 2 reduced to 146 and 318 respectively

KUCHING, Nov 1: Covid-19 cases in Sarawak continue to drop today with 146 and 318 cases recorded for Category 1 and 2 respectively, while the overall number of daily infections decrease to 478 cases.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, said a total of 14 cases were also reported involving Category 3, 4 and 5, with four Category 3 cases having lung infection, four Category 4 cases with lung infection and require oxygen, and six Category 5 cases with lung infection and need ventilator support.

By breakdown in number of cases, Miri top the list today with 131 cases, followed by Kuching with 129 cases, Sibu (33), Bintulu (27), Lawas (25), Serian (15), Sri Aman (15), Limbang (13), Kapit (10), and Pusa (10).

Other districts which reported new cases today are Dalat (9), Sarikei (8), Kanowit (7), Bau (5), Subis (5), Mukah (4), Saratok (4), Samarahan (3), Betong (3), Kabong (3), two cases each for Lundu, Marudi, Tebedu, Selangau, Telang Usan and Sebauh, one case each for Simunjan, Meradong, Belaga, Song, Pakan, Beluru and Julau.

Eight other districts, namely Tanjung Manis, Matu, Bukit Mabong, Daro, Asjaaya, Lubok Antu and Tatau, reported zero new cases.

As of today, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Sarawak since March 2020, stands at 241,524 cases.

On the same note, SDMC announced the end of Terimah Cluster in Limbang after no new cases were reported in the past 28 days.

With no new clusters reported today, only 27 active cluster remain in the State. ā€” DayakDaily.
