21yo cancer patient among 20 Covid-19 deaths today, majority from Betong with 5 BIDs

KUCHING, Nov 1: Sarawak today reported 20 new Covid-19 deaths for patients who passed away from Sept 30 to Oct 30, with a 21 year-old cancer patient from Sarikei being the youngest casualty, says State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

Among the 20 fatalities, 14 of them were from Betong and out of that, five cases were brought-in-dead (BID).

The first BID was a 53-year-old who had hypertension and diabetes who died on September 30.

The second BID was a 79-year-old man who had high blood pressure and diabetes who passed away on Oct 4.

The third BID was a 86-year-old woman who did not have any history of illness who succumbed to Covid-19 on Oct 5.

The fourth BID was a 51-year-old man who had hypertension and liver disease and passed away on Oct 6.

The fifth BID was a 80-year-old man who had hypertension, diabetes, heart and obstructive chronic lung disease.

As for non-BID Covid-19 deaths, two cases were reported on Oct 1 and Oct 30 as well as one case each on Oct 2, Oct 3, Oct 4, Oct 9, Oct 12, Oct 13, Oct 18, Oct 19, Oct 25, Oct 28 and Oct 29.

They involved Covid-19 patients aged 21 to 89 who had comorbidities.

Nine of them were from Betong, two from Sri Aman, Sibu and one each from Miri and Sarikei

With the extra 20 Covid-19 deaths reported in Sarawak, the death toll due to Covid-19 now stands at 1,354. — DayakDaily
