Covid-19: 222 cases have recovered and been discharged

KUCHING, Apr 10: A total of 222 Covid-19 cases that have recovered and been discharged was recorded as of today, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“The number of discharged cases today bring total cumulative recovery cases to 1,830 cases, which is equivalent to about 42 per cent of the total cases,” Noor Hisham said in a press conference.

He said that as of 12 pm today, a total of 118 new Covid-19 positive cases was also reported, bringing the total positive cases to 4,345 cases.


Meanwhile, Noor Hisham also said that the ministry welcomed the extension of the Movement Control Order (MCO) in order to contain and prevent further spread of the Covid-19 outbreak.

He said the current situation is yet to be safe, and still needs further prevention and control of the outbreak.

He opined that the enforcement should also be more stringent in order to cut the spread of the pandemic, including using new approaches, especially towards a specific target group.

“This will provide the opportunity for the government to fight against the outbreak, before evaluating the effectiveness and also the current situation of the infection,” he said.

Noor Hisham also added the implementation of the MCO had greatly helped the ministry to contain the spread of in the country and stabilise it.—DayakDaily
