KUCHING, Oct 5: Sarawak today registered 16 deaths due to Covid-19, including four cases of brought-in-dead (BID).
According to a report from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the Covid-19 patients all had comorbidities and had died between Sept 24 and Oct 4.
SDMC disclosed that the youngest Covid-19 patient was 36-years-old and the oldest was 86-years-old.
On Sept 24, there was one death involving a 77-year-old woman from Betong who was also a BID.
Subsequently, on Sept 27 and 28, one woman aged 86 who was also a BID and one man aged 76, both from Betong, passed away due to the virus.
On Sept 29, two deaths were reported, involving a 66-year-old man from Kuching and 72-year-old man from Betong who was a BID case.
On Oct 1 and Oct 2, a 76-year-old man from Sibu and a woman aged 80 from Sarikei who was BID were the two deaths recorded.
There were seven deaths reported on Oct 3 involving five men and two women aged between 36 and 69 from Samarahan, Betong, Serian, Sarikei, Miri and Kuching.
Two deaths were reported on Oct 4 involving a 63-year-old woman and 47-year-old man from Miri.
With the additional 16 deaths reported, the death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak has increased to 919. — DayakDaily
