Covid-19: 11 districts in Sarawak remain as red zones


KUCHING, March 15: Eleven districts remain in the red zone status after reporting a total of 2,571 infection cases of Covid-19 in the past 14 days.

In disclosing this, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, said the 11 districts are Song, Serian, Subis, Julau, Betong, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

According to SDMC, as of today, Bau, Mukah and Sarikei also stay in the orange zone status after reporting a total of only 94 cases over the same period of time.


The statement noted Dalat, Limbang, Selangau, Telang Usan, Tanjung Manis, Sri Aman, Kanowit, Samarahan, Belaga, Lundu, Bukit Mabong, Tatau, Marudi, Pusa, Asajaya, Beluru, Saratok dan Sebauh retain their status as yellow zones with a total of 129 positive cases reported in the past two weeks.

“Eight districts namely Pakan, Matu, Lawas, Daro, Simunjan, Lubok Antu, Tebedu and Kabong also remain as green zones of Covid-19,” it said. — DayakDaily
