Covid-19: 1,000 face masks presented to Kuching journalists on the frontlines

KUCHING, April 1: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng has secured the sponsorship of 1,000 face masks for frontline media members during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Wee handed over the masks to Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) president Jacqueline Radoi David this morning.

In a media release, Wee said that the masks were sourced by coordinating with Dynamic Kuching team leader Eric Tay.

“Journalists and media members on the frontline of Covid-19 pandemic play vital roles in disseminating accurate information to the general public, while at the same time, putting themselves at risks,” Wee noted.

Jacqueline extended gratitude and appreciation to Wee and Tay for their kind gesture.

“KDJA urges for cooperation from the public to stop spreading all kind of fake news and to follow procedures under the Movement Control Order (MCO). Stay at home to fight Covid-19,” she added. — DayakDaily
