KUCHING, Oct 31: Sarawak for Sarawakians (S4S) spokesperson-cum-SAREXIT committee chairman, Chong Shin Hua, claimed today that police had approved the SAREXIT Peaceful Gathering on Nov 4-5.

Following this approval, a SAREXIT Peaceful Gathering will be held from 4pm to 6pm at Padang Merdeka here on Nov 4.

On the following day, a SAREXIT Morning Walk will be held at 8am at the Square Tower, Kuching Waterfront.

In a statement, Chong claimed that the meeting with the police was held at 2.30pm yesterday (Oct 30). During the meeting, the S4S Team discussed the two proposed gatherings with the relevant law enforcement authorities.

During the discussion, police listed some of the prohibited slogans such as ‘Sarawak Exit’ and ‘Keluar Malaysia’.

He said S4S was willing to cooperate to allow a peaceful gathering to take place, and the police promised to assist if some political parties became unruly.

“Any attendees carrying banners with the word ‘Keluar Malaysia’ on the day, the organisers will ignore it and let police take action against these attendees.

“After the 30-minute discussion, the police issued an approval letter on the spot,” said Chong.

He added that 500,000 SAREXIT stickers would be distributed free to the public.

“At the end of this year, the team will prepare another 500,000 SAREXIT stickers for free distribution to the public, making a total of one million stickers,” he said. — DayakDaily
