KUCHING, Nov 28: Police have arrested a 27-year-old woman suspected of selling illegal lottery during its “Ops Dadu” at 4th Mile, Jalan Penrissen, here yesterday.
Padawan District police chief, Supt Aidil Bolhassan, said the raid was conducted at an unnumbered room on the first floor of a shop lot, nearby a convenient store.
“During the raid, the suspect was believed to be in the process of selling the lottery numbers without a licence.
“The suspect also admitted to selling the lottery numbers without a licence in the past two months and was paid with RM1,200 as monthly salary,” Aidil said in a statement.
He added that suspect have no previous record and was arrested under Section 4A (a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
Police also seized a total of RM334, a blue pen, a piece of paper with numbers written on it, and a bag. — DayakDaily
