KUCHING, March 8: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous rainfall alert for several districts in Sarawak until March 10.
The affected districts include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, and Song.
According to an advisory issued at 11.15am today, MetMalaysia stated that the warning is in place due to the possibility of severe weather conditions, including thunderstorms with rain intensity expected to occur for more than six hours in one area.
Additionally, the department mentioned that based on the analysis of weather models, wind concentration is expected to persist in Sarawak until March 12.
This situation may lead to increased humidity, potentially resulting in continuous rain in central and southern Sarawak.
MetMalaysia also advises the public to stay informed by checking the official website, following the department’s official social media accounts, and downloading the MyCuaca application for the latest and most accurate weather updates. — DayakDaily
