Continuous rain warning for Kuching, multiple regions in S’wak from Jan 11–12

KUCHING, Jan 8: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous rain warning (alert) for Kuching and several areas in Sarawak from Jan 11 until Jan 12.

MetMalaysia said in a statement issued at 1pm today (Jan 8) that continuous rain is expected in Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Betong, Sarikei (Sarikei), and Mukah.

“Continuous Rain Warning (Danger) is issued when there are signs indicating that continuous heavy rain is expected to occur with the amount of rain exceeding 150 mm within 24 hours.


“Continuous Rain Warning (Bad) is issued when there are signs indicating that continuous heavy rain is expected to occur with the amount of rain exceeding 60 mm within six hours.

“Continuous Rain Warning (Alert) is issued when there are signs that rain/thunderstorms are expected to occur for more than six hours in that period in an area,” it said. — DayakDaily
