KUCHING, March 12: Continuous rain is expected in southern Sarawak from Kuching up to Betong today, with heavy rain warnings centred in Kuching and Samarahan.
Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia), in a statement issued at 7.15pm last night, listed the whole Kuching division and Samarahan and Asajaya districts under the orange warning.
The orange warning is issued when there are indications that continuous heavy rain is expected to occur, with rainwater exceeding 60mm within six hours.
Meanwhile, Simunjan district in Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, as well as Pusa and Betong districts in Betong, which are under yellow warning, indicated that there are signs that rain or thunderstorms are expected to occur for more than six hours in that period in an area. — DayakDaily
