KUCHING, June 12: All construction works in Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) areas continues to be banned throught the Movement Control Order (MCO) until June 28, except those listed as being critical services.

DBKU director Dr Morshidi Ahmad, in a notice issued today, said this order applied to all contractors of construction and maintenance projects under DBKU jurisdiction as well as consultant and professional services involved in the industry.

“In line with the extension of MCO starting June 15 to 28, all construction works are not allowed to operate except for critical services as listed in the MCO standard operating procedure (SOP).

“The critical works permitted to continue to be carried out are those deemed to pose a threat to public and environmental safety and may cause inconveniences,” he said.

With that, he urged all contractors involved to comply and adhere to the MCO SOP issued by the National Security Council (MKN) and State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) from time to time. — DayakDaily
