Construction progresses on ART Red Line from Kuching Sentral to Pending

KUCHING, Aug 17: The construction of the Red Line alignment for the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) system is currently underway, connecting Kuching Sentral to Pending.

Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd, in a statement today, announced that they are focused on site clearing and installing hoarding walls at locations designated for future ART stations.

“These works are being carried out near Pelita Heights and Swinburne University, as well as along Jalan Tun Razak,” the statement read.

For the proposed ART Interchange Station at Simpang Tiga, piling works are in progress for the detention pond, along with preparations for the Main Load Tests for station piers and rebar fabrication for bore piles.

Sarawak Metro also mentioned that road widening efforts are part of the current phase.

“We are doing our best to manage traffic flow and minimise disruptions. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and support as we progress on this journey together,” the statement added. — DayakDaily
