KUCHING, Oct 25: Phase 3 of the concrete drainage system upgrading project in Tudan Desaras 6 (B) was completed earlier than scheduled to address flood issues.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin said the project’s construction, which started on Sept 10 this year under the Rural Transformation Progamme (RTP) allocation, is now fully completed.

“This project was requested by the local community to completely resolve the flash floods that hit the area during monsoon season,” he said when met by reporters after visiting the project site in Tudan Desaras 6 (B), today.

Lee, who is also the Senadin assemblyman, noted Phase 3 is a continuation from Phase 2, that was completed in May earlier this year with an allocation of RM100,000.

“The Phase 3 project has fully completed the concrete drainage system upgrading works that was implemented in Tudan Desaras 6 (B),” he added. – DayakDaily.
