KUCHING, Jan 4: Community leaders who have worked hard for the Chinese community will be recognised at the upcoming Federation of Chinese Associations, Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division’s 41st Anniversary Annual Dinner.
Its president Datuk Richard Wee revealed that one of the highlights of the event was to recognise their contributions towards Chinese education as well as the community.
Thus, he said the association has decided to award them with the Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wee Boon Ping’s Award for outstanding leadership for the year 2019.
Meanwhile, Wee shared that the association will host its annual dinner on February 16 at Imperial Hotel in conjunction with the Chinese New Year festival.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has been invited to grace the function which was organised to raise funds for the association’s activities.
Other guests include the Consul-General of China in Kuching Cheng Guangzhong, ministers as well as elected representatives.
