CM not aware of any discussion with Bersatu, PN on State polls

KUCHING, Nov 26: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said he is not aware of any discussion with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and other component parties of Perikatan Nasional (PN) on preparations for the 12th Sarawak Election as announced by Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin in a statement yesterday.

“If there is a meeting, we’ll see, but so far, I am not aware of it,” he said.


At the same time, Abang Johari was also asked to comment on Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak’s decision to contest in all 82 seats in the coming election.

To this, he simply replied, “ Let them contest.”

He said this to reporters after attending a leaders with the people gathering at Kabong District Hawker Centre in Betong today.

At the event, he also said that GPS will not budge on its stance to contest in all 82 seats in the 12th Sarawak Election.

The chief minister said this when asked to comment on rumours that Bersatu will field its own candidates during the State polls.

“That is their decision but we (GPS) remain firm with our decision (to contest in all 82 seats),” he said. — DayakDaily
