KUCHING, June 21: The telephone lines at Kota Sentosa health clinic have been successfully migrated to a new Unifi fiber optic cable and are now fully functional.
Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) member Michael Kong thanked and expressed his gratitude to Telekom Malaysia (TM) for their efficient and prompt execution of the work, which has restored uninterrupted communication services at the clinic.
Two weeks ago, he had learnt that phone services at the clinic was cut off due to cable theft, apart from a shortage of medicinal supplies, specifically anaesthetics for dental procedures.
Federal Deputy Communications and Digital Minister Teo Nie Ching was informed of the issue and TM took immediate action to conduct an onsite survey.
“This will undoubtedly contribute to an improved healthcare experience for patients.
“We express our gratitude to TM for their swift action and commend the dedication of all parties involved in ensuring the successful completion of this project,” Kong, who is also special assistant to Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen, said in a statement after visiting the clinic today.
Noting the high patient load currently experienced at the clinic, Kong expressed relief that the upcoming health clinics at Siburan and Tabuan Jaya would soon alleviate the burden.
“The establishment of these additional clinics will distribute the patient load among the three clinics, enabling them to operate more efficiently and effectively,” he added.
Kong also acknowledged the commendable initiatives undertaken by the Kota Sentosa clinic to enhance its healthcare services, including the provision of palliative care, home visits, and the introduction of a virtual clinic.
He encouraged the public to take advantage of the virtual clinic, which enables medical consultations without the need for in-person visits, offering convenience and accessibility. — DayakDaily
