KUCHING, Sept 15: The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has allocated RM3 million for digital content to promote quality publications, talent development, and skills in filmmaking in Sabah and Sarawak.
Its minister, Fahmi Fadzil, said the fund is good news for artists to stimulate creativity and innovation and create job opportunities.
“The fund will be channelled from the ministry to the artists through National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas),” he said during the ‘Fast Track: How To Be A Content Creator’ programme at Finas here today.
At the same time, Fahmi also disclosed that a 20 per cent discount is given for rentals and Finas filming facilities for six months from now.
He said applications for the fund are now open until Oct 11, 2023, and called all artists to take advantage of this opportunity to provide projects that can help produce quality and competitive content.
Fahmi hoped through the cooperation of all parties, including the federal government and Sarawak government, our country’s film industry could be more distinguished.
“We hope such fund could also provide training needs and filming facilities with quality a reality,” he said. — DayakDaily
