SRI AMAN, May 1: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) claims that its sole candidate in the 14th general election (GE14) Cobbold John Lusoi who is tri-lingual is a “president” for all Sarawakians.
In a statement, the party’s election director Rapelson Richard Hamit said Cobbold, the party’s president, has the ability to speak, read and write in Chinese.
“He studied at Chung Hua Sri Aman in 1968 until 1974. His experience in speaking, reading and writing since fifty (50) years ago was honoured and respected by the Chinese community in Sri Aman, Balai Ringin, Bukit Bangunan and Simanggang.
“He (Cobbold) is the president not only for the Dayak people but also ‘president’ for the Chinese, Malays and all Sarawakians.
“He is a resident locally residing in Sri Aman. He is easy to approach, well-respected, friendly and has the ability to speak, read and write in Chinese,” said Rapelson in a statement.
As a Dayak-based party, PBDSB also promised to take care of and be fair to all races within the constituency.
Cobbold who went on a walkabout in Sri Aman town to meet with town folk this morning also promised that he would not practise ‘selected development’ if he were to be elected as Member of Parliament for Sri Aman. — DayakDaily
