CMCO: Govt allows maximum of four family members per vehicle

KUCHING, May 3: A maximum of four family members will be allow to travel in one vehicle during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which starts tomorrow, disclosed Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Ismail Sabri in his daily press briefing broadcast from Putrajaya today said that social distancing is not an issue as it involves family members from the same household who are already together at home.

“The government allows for a maximum of four family members, but they must be from the same family and household,” he said.


At the briefing, Ismail Sabri disclosed that passenger capacity for public transportation services will be cut in half.

For example, he explained, if bus passenger capacity is for 40 passengers, then only 20 passengers are allow to to be inside during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri also clarified that it is not a must for businesses in permitted sectors to open for business as it is up to the owner to decide whether to open up their premises to the public.

“However, if they are worried for their safety, they can continue with “takeaway” services,” he added. — DayakDaily
