SIBU, Nov 15: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has reminded Caretaker Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Patinggi Ismail Sabri Yaakob to not forget Sarawak if the latter manages to retain his prime ministership after the 15th General Election (GE15).

Speaking at the Tanjung Manis Administration Centre opening ceremony here today, Abang Johari who is also Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman recalled the conversation he had with Ismail Sabri during an official function in Selangau yesterday (Nov 14).

“Yesterday, the prime minister was with me in Selangau. He said ‘Abang Jo, do not forget that we work together for Malaysia’ and I told him Insya-Allah because what Sarawak wants is to have a stable Federal government to develop Malaysia and GPS will stand behind anyone that can form a stable government.

“Secondly, I told him that ‘if you want to become PM, remember Sarawak; give what is wanted by the people of Sarawak’ and he answered ‘Insya-Allah’.

“Thus, let us pray that comes Nov 19, P206 Tanjung Manis – Yusuf Abdul Wahab (GPS-PBB) and the rest of the candidates will win big so that Sarawak can become a stabiliser in our nation’s politics,” he said.

Yesterday, Abang Johari during his speech at the Selangau event, has given the impression that GPS will support Ismail Sabri as the next Prime Minister post GE15 although he clarified that the GPS is still in courtship in finding a ‘suitor’ to partner in the Federal government. — DayakDaily
