CM receives courtesy call from Weststar Aviation Service to discuss joint venture with Hornbill Skyways

KUCHING, Feb 18: The Chief Minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has received a courtesy call from Weststar Aviation Service Sdn Bhd to discuss a possible joint venture with Hornbill Skyways to expand helicopter transportation services in Sarawak.

According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the courtesy call, which was held at the Chief Minister’s office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Thursday (Feb 17), was led by Weststar owner Tan Sri Dr Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim together with his entourage.

Speaking to reporters after the courtesy call, Dr Syed Azman said Weststar is focusing on efforts to provide a training programme for Sarawak to enable the State to advance in the industry.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Dato Husain said they will consider the proposal presented by Weststar.

“It is an attractive proposal and in line with Sarawak’s aspiration to become a developed state,” he said.
