17 summonses handed out for traffic offences during Ops Bersepadu in Marudi

MIRI, Feb 5: The Marudi police have issued a total of 17 summonses for various traffic offences during ‘Ops Bersepadu’ held on Saturday held in conjunction with the Chinese New Year.

According to Crime Prevention and Community Safety of Marudi police headquarters chief, Inspector Erwin Geoffry Ussan, said among the top traffic offences were flouting traffic lights, driving without a valid licence as well as expired road tax and insurance.

“A total 80 vehicles (65 cars and 15 motorcyles) were inspected during the operation which started at 10am today to 3pm,” he said.

The operation which also involved police personnel from the Narcotics Department and Road Transport Department (JPJ) were carried put at three locations, namely at Pekan Long Lama, Pekan Bakong and Lapok. — DayakDaily
