KUCHING, Aug 21: Jalan Lapangan Terbang (near Curry House) and the parking area in front of Big Pharmacy at Jalan Canna here will undergo temporary closures for one month starting today to facilitate water pipe relocation works.
Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Metro) announced in a notice that a partial road closure at Jalan Lapangan Terbang will be in effect from Aug 21 to Sept 21, 2025, operating 24 hours daily.
Meanwhile, the parking area in front of Big Pharmacy at Jalan Canna will also be closed from Aug 21 to Sept 20, 2025.
The utility works, which will run continuously for the entire period, are necessary to support ongoing infrastructure development in the area.
Road users are advised to exercise caution when driving through these areas and to adhere strictly to all traffic management control measures, road warning signs, and speed limits to ensure the safety of both motorists and construction workers.
Sarawak Metro further assured that the public will be notified should there be any changes to this notification.
The company also reminded road users to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid unnecessary congestion.
