KUCHING, June 11: Abang Abdul Rahim Tun Abang Openg, the elder brother of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has passed away at the age of 78 at about 8.30pm last night.
A close family member said Abdul Rahim died of a heart attack while receiving treatment at a private medical centre here, according to a news report by Bernama.
His remains will be prepared at his house in Jalan Patingan here for burial at the Semariang Muslim Cemetery which is to be held before Zohor prayers today.
Abdul Rahim was the sixth child of the first Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abang Openg Abang Sapiee. — DayakDaily
