LUNDU, Aug 13: The new Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (Centexs) in Lundu is set to be the hub to produce digital-based skilled workers and experts in augmented reality (AR) programme.
Partnering with Chinese telecommunications and digital technology giant Huawei (Huawei Malaysia), Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said they will work together with Leon Reality, a multinational company to train Sarawakians in preparation for the digital world.
“Although Centexs in Santubong is the laboratory base, the new Centexs campus in Lundu will be the venue for our students to do their practical training. The centre will provide residential facilities for our student’s convenience.
“Through the technical training they provide, Centexs will be able to produce more digital-based skilled workers and experts for the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) and ensure that Sarawak can achieve its digital economy dreams,” Abang Johari said on his working visit to Lundu, today.
Meanwhile, he gave his assurance that Sarawak state government under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will continue to develop Lundu, Sematan and Telok Melano.
“We will turn this area into a tourism attraction. Therefore we have to provide better infrastructure and then the private sectors will come in to invest.
“Rich in biodiversity, flora and fauna, the areas also offer National Parks for visitors,” Abang Johari added.—DayakDaily
