KUCHING, July 27: Catholic churches here will respect and follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) approved by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in efforts to contain the second wave of Covid-19 outbreak.

Revealing this during a live streaming of the Sunday Mass yesterday, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kuching Archbishop Simon Poh Hoon Seng said there was a possibility that congregational services and masses in churches would be suspended for the time being.

Despite that, Archbishop Simon urges the public to respect the lives of each person by practicing social responsibility.

ā€œFirst, wear a mask in public as a sign of respect to protect one another, especially those who are working very hard in hospitals and medical centres.

ā€œSecond, always maintain at least one metre social distancing. Third, practice proper washing of hands,ā€ he said. ā€”DayakDaily
