KUCHING, April 13: “Youth are not just future leaders—they are the catalysts of change today.”
This was said by Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi when officiating the Ekspo Pemerkasaan Belia Pribumi 2025 in Miri on April 12.
Speaking on the programme in a Facebook post, he said it aligns with the Model Pembangunan Belia Madani 2030, serving as a landmark initiative to empower rural and indigenous youth.
Nanta, who is also Kapit MP, said this is done through hands-on exposure to entrepreneurship, vocational training, e-sports, financial literacy, and career guidance.
“As the chairman of the Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (AFPPD) Malaysia, I am honoured to officiate the Ekspo Pemerkasaan Belia Pribumi 2025.
“This event was made possible through the leadership and coordination of the AFPPD Malaysia, which has long championed inclusive youth development policies, particularly in underserved regions.
“AFPPD plays a critical role in bridging policymaking with grassroots action, ensuring that youth voices, especially from remote and indigenous communities, are not just heard but actively supported through real opportunities and sustainable development programmes.
“Let’s continue working hand in hand to invest in our youth—the heart, soul and strength of our nation’s future,” he said. — DayakDaily
