SIBU, May 30: A 25-year-old cashier of a budget chain store has been sentenced to two years’ jail and a RM3,000 fine by the Magistrate’s Court here today for cheating the company of RM2,842.
The accused, Hiddaya Abdul Rani of Daro, pleaded guilty under Section 381 of the Penal Code for cheating.
According to the brief facts of the case, a supervisor of the company had at about 4.28pm on April 22, discovered that the cash from store sales for April 21 was only RM8,314 against the actual amount of RM11,156.
A police investigation revealed that the accused had misappropriated RM2,824. — DayakDaily
