KUCHING, March 3: The first suspect in the Cambodia high-paying job scam was released on police bail here today, as his remand has reached the maximum seven days.

The 35-year-old is, however, required to be present at the police station whenever needed to facilitate investigation into the case.

Investigating officer ASP Pricha Undau applied for the suspect to be released on police bail, and it was approved by Court Registrar Dora Azin.

The case, which concerns 47 Malaysians being lured to Cambodia where they all eventually ended up in a provincial jail for 65 days, is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
