KUCHING, March 11: All federal cabinet ministers are required to declare their assets within a month.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin emphasised that all leaders in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government have been asked to commit to the ‘Aku Janji’ initiative to ensure highest level of integrity.

“First off, I have reminded all cabinet ministers to be committed in fighting against corruption,” he told a press conference after chairing the first federal Cabinet meeting with 31 ministers in Putrajaya this morning.

“Secondly, I have told all Cabinet ministers to declare their assets in which the forms will be distributed and to be submitted to MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) within a month’s time, such as had been done in the past,” he added.

Muhyiddin also reminded the cabinet ministers of PN government’s commitment towards the people.

“PN is a government that knows the needs of the people, things that needed to get done immediately and have sense of urgency especially in resolving the problems faced by people and nation.

“All ministers are aware of the country’s situation, especially the challenging economy, due to drastic drop in fuel prices to USD30 per barrel (and) compounded by Covid-19, which has impacted the country, especially in economy,” he said. —DayakDaily
