KUCHING, March 11: A furniture shop at Jalan Batu 4 was saved from a fire disaster by its alert workers today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre received the emergency call at 11.38am.
Upon realising the 10 x 12 square feet storage room was on fire, a group of workers swiftly grabbed a fire extinguishers (APA).
They managed to douse the fire with 15 APA. Only 10 per cent of the storage room was destroyed.
Upon arrival, firefighters continued the task, to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and perform overhaul work.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. — DayakDaily
