KUCHING, Dec 2: bzBee Consult Sdn Bhd and Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) have clinched the coveted Campaign of the Year Awards for Agency and In-house Categories respectively, solidifying their position as trailblazers in public relations excellence, at the Malaysia Public Relations Awards (MPRA) 2024 held in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 30.
Held in conjunction with PRCA Malaysia’s 25th Anniversary, the prestigious event celebrated the industry’s best with a record-breaking 111 awards across 35 categories, selected from an unprecedented 184 entries.
STB’s victory highlights its dedication to promoting Sarawak as a top-tier destination through innovative storytelling and impactful campaigns. Their achievement reflects their commitment to elevating Sarawak’s tourism appeal while setting a new benchmark for in-house PR practices.
Meanwhile, bzBee Consult’s award underscores the agency’s creative and strategic prowess, which continues to inspire the PR community both locally and regionally.
According to a press release, the glittering ceremony also celebrated individual excellence, with Dato’ Seri Paduka TPr Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, receiving the PRCA Malaysia Leadership Award 2024 for her visionary contributions.
In addition, Dato’ Dr Hartini Zainudin, co-founder of Yayasan Chow Kit, was honoured with the ‘Making A Difference’ Community Award for her tireless advocacy for child welfare.
PRCA Malaysia president, Prof Said Bani CM Din, praised the record-breaking achievements, noting, “Tonight, we honour not just excellence but the dedication and creativity driving our industry forward.
“The 2024 theme, ‘You and AI,’ reminds us of the transformative potential of technology, balanced by ethical storytelling and human ingenuity.”
The inclusion of new categories this year, such as media and student awards, highlights PRCA Malaysia’s commitment to nurturing future talent and broadening the impact of public relations. Notably, the Persuasive Pen Prize was awarded to five outstanding students, with Gold winner Muhammad Hafiz Azrai bin A’zmai from the Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin shining as an example of the next generation of PR professionals.
This year’s awards were bolstered by the support of esteemed organisations, including the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), World Communications Forum Association (WCFA), Public Relations Global Network (PRGN), and Public Relations Practitioners Society Malaysia (PRactitioners) highlighting Malaysia’s growing prominence in global public relations.
