Burglars cart off electrical goods in Pujut Tanjong Batu

MIRI, August 23: A man in his 50’s was shocked to find his house had been ransacked by unknown individuals on Wednesday evening in Pujut Tanjong Batu.

The self-employed man only discovered the burglary upon his return from work around 7pm.

According to sources, most of his electrical appliances were stolen in the incident. Amongst missing items were his 6kg washing machine, food steamer, a blender, standing fan, cooking gas cylinder, and two laptops.


It was believed that the intruders might have gained access into the house via the main door.
A police report was lodged later that night.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) raided a premises selling handphone accessories for suspected illegal 4D lotterry ticket operations at Jalan Bendahara here on Wednesday.

The raid was conducted around 5pm following on a public tip-off. A female worker in her early 20’s was arrested for questioning.

During the raid,police also seized items such as cash amounting at RM87 and a handphone which was believed to be used as a transaction tool to enable purchase of illegal 4D tickets.

The case is being investigated under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953. — DayakDaily
