Bundle shop ransacked, RM2,000 in items, cash missing

MIRI, June 25: A bundle shop at River Road here was broken into overnight by unknown individual(s).

The shop’s main door shutter was left half ajar, believed to be left so by the thieves, after they entered the premises and carted away several belongings inside, including a cashier machine.


Total losses was estimated to be about RM2,000.

The incident was discovered today at 6am (June 25) by the shop’s owner.

According to sources, the owner in his late 20s was stunned to see the main door shutter ajar when he arrived at the shop that morning.

Further checks revealed that besides the cashier machine, a handphone belonging to him and cash amounting to nearly RM200 were missing.

Most of the bundle products inside the shop were left intact.

A police report was lodged later that morning at Miri Central police station (CPS).

A team of police personnel were despatched to the shop to investigate.

As of press time, no suspects have been arrested in connection with the case. — DayakDaily
