SIBU, Feb 3: PetrosNiaga has increased the number of gas cylinders for the Sibu district starting yesterday (Feb 2) due to the high demand ahead of the Chinese New Year celebration.
Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng said he asked PetrosNiaga to do so as there was still a problem with exchanging gas cylinders due to the lack of supply.
“I have received many complaints about this matter, and it is still happening. So, I have informed PetrosNiaga to deal with the problem immediately.
“Yesterday, they informed me that more gas cylinders will be sent to the Sibu district until February 8 to accommodate the high demand ahead of the Chinese New Year celebration,” he said at a press conference today.
Chieng, however, refused to reveal the number of additional gas cylinders allocated by PetrosNiaga, instead saying that the amount is enough to solve the issue.
He said PetrosNiaga will open a hotline for Chinese New Year for the Sibu district to receive complaints and problems.
The hotline numbers are 011-55120717 and 014-5339855, and they can be contacted from 9am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays. — DayakDaily
