KUCHING, March 20: Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng has contributed school bags and stationery sets to 100 primary school students to prepare them for the new school term next week.

The assistance was for students from families in the B40 category and below with parents or one of them registered as voters in Bukit Assek, according to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).

The contribution was handed over to the students at the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Bukit Assek branch on Saturday (March 19).

Chieng hoped that the contributions could alleviate the burden of parents or guardians while providing for the children.

Also present was SUPP Bukit Assek branch chairman Dato Chieng Buong Toon. — DayakDaily
