KUCHING, Feb 22: His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei arrived in Kuching today to pay his respects at the funeral ceremony of former Head of State, the late Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), His Majesty arrived at Kuching International Airport (KIA) at 10.53am together with Brunei’s Prince Abdul Mateen and was welcomed by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
Following arrival, His Majesty then proceed to Demak Mosque to attend ceremony and later to Taib’s family grave at their residence in Jalan Bako.
Also present to welcome the arrival of His Majesty were Brunei High Commissioner to Malaysia Brigadier General (B) Dato Paduka Mahmud Saidin. — DayakDaily
