KUCHING, July 17: The Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, attended a royal banquet held in conjunction with the 80th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, at Bandar Seri Begawan on Thursday night (July 16).
In a post on Wan Junaidi’s Facebook page, the event reflected the strong bonds of friendship and the spirit of cooperation that continue to be strengthened between Brunei Darussalam and the countries and territories with which it shares close ties.
It also added that Wan Junaidi and Fauziah’s attendance symbolised continued commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations, friendship, and the long-standing historical ties between Sarawak and Brunei Darussalam.
Wan Junaidi and Fauziah also expressed their appreciation to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah for the royal invitation to attend the banquet. They prayed for His Majesty’s continued good health, well-being, and a blessed reign for the enduring prosperity of Brunei Darussalam.
Also in attendance were Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha, members of the Brunei royal family, senior government and foreign dignitaries, government representatives, and members of the diplomatic corps.
Accompanying Wan Junaidi and Fauziah were Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and his wife, Dato Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud. — DayakDaily
